The Great Smoky Mountain Dance Theatre was established in November 2004 as a non-profit organization. Since the beginning we have filled our cast with adults and children from surrounding counties. They help to perform this timeless magical Christmas journey of the Nutcracker.
All adults and children that try out will have a roll in the Nutcracker performance regardless of their dance experience. As of 2017, we have had over 200 children and adults volunteer to take the stage and bring this ballet to life.
We believe that every child deserves a chance to dance!
